The current Ferry Terminal waiting room and public toilets are housed in temporary portacabin structures. This means that people arriving and departing Dunoon don’t have the best experience of this vital public transport connection.
Basic digital information is provided about the ferry running status, however live timetable information is not available on site. Train, bus and ferry timetable information is not presented clearly or coherently at this key arrival and departure point. This lack of information gives the impression that public transport is not interconnected and accessible.
Local Place Plan
-
Work with ferry, bus and local transport providers and local transport users to improve timetable information, including train, bus and ferry connections alongside additional local information. Use live data to keep people properly updated about travel information locally and beyond.
Community Action Plan
-
In light of population decline and the rising cost of living, combined with a commitment to Active Travel, it is essential that all ferry operators, wider public transport providers and community stakeholders come together to develop localised solutions that help make ferry services affordable, accessible and reliable.
-
A public transport task force should be established in Dunoon and Kirn to work on small changes, like making ferry timetables accessible, developing lift share schemes and providing better digital information about transport links alongside larger scale projects.
