Bonnie Dundee (IYN)

Bonnie Dundee (IYN) is a group of enthusiastic volunteers who maintain several areas in the city centre ( William Gardiner Square  at the back of the Overgate, planters at the Science Centre, planters  in Union Street and  Westport and a garden in Slessor Gardens on the waterside of Janetta's famous ice cream  🍦 😊  We care for our environment and practice climate friendly gardening e.g. grow flowers from seed, hold litter picks and help spread the word about the importance of biodiversity and pollinating insects.

The planters are accessible at all times.

There are numerous good cafes dotted around the City Centre

Are dogs allowed?

Public space so dogs are allowed.

Toilets

The planters are located in the city centre so there are plenty of cafes plus public toilets in the Overgate shopping centre.

Access to Garden produce

Most of the planters are used for flowers for pollinators. There are a few herbs but we don't grow vegetables.

Volunteering opportunities

Bonnie Dundee volunteer

We are looking for folk to help to maintain the planters in the city centre.  We work to provide a year-round colourful display and to provide a food source for pollinators.  We are open to creative ideas and ways of working to make the areas look amazing.  We are also part of the bigger Grow Dundee network of growing spaces so have lots of interesting learning and sharing opportunities.    Please get in touch if you would like to find out more!  Thank you.
