Root Herbs for Health Workshop- Dandelions, Nettles and Burdock

Ever tasted Dandelion coffee?  It's not as bad as it sounds, it is surprisingly delicious!  Save money and boost your health with some tasty root herb preparations.

We had a workshop with the lovely Rosy Rose from Fife.  She taught us all about the health benefits to be gained from common roots.  In the Spring they are at their peak as they start to grow and before the leaves come up.

The roots can be harvested (dug up) and cleaned then dried and used chopped or in our case we roasted the dandelion roots for 30 minutes in a hot oven then ground them up in a mortar and pestle.  We used a cafetiere to make the coffee just like ground coffee.    It has a hint of coffee taste but went down very well with the workshop participants, none of the caffeine issues and great for liver support and the urinary system.
