We love hosting Christmas Wreath making Workshops but this year we went all out and did a slightly different workshop inspired by a book cover. We created little decorative Christmas village scenes to brighten up the indoors.
We used offcuts of wood cut into the shape of little houses, we then painted them or coloured them in with posca pens. We used lots of natural conifer foliage to create gardens and scenes. Each scene was placed onto a slate, paths were added using mosaic shapes and glass beads. The roofs were made from slivers of bark and glued into place. These are just some of our ideas but the choice of materials is endless. We tried to avoid single-use plastics. We also worked with Whimsical Lush, a local artist who creates beautiful toadstools. These featured in almost everyone's scene, as you can see from the pictures. This was a chilled-out way to spend an hour or two at very little cost. Most of what we used we were able to reclaim or repurpose. We hope it gives you a bit of inspiration to try this out for yourself.
