This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in our new project at the Maxwell Garden, DUNDEE THE BIG GROW. We are engaging with 100 households across the city to support them to set up or develop their own growing space, cook with their produce and help wildlife.
Role: DUNDEE THE BIG GROW Volunteer
We are looking for a volunteer who would like to learn about food growing, community engagement and project design and delivery and support families and groups with different abilities, backgrounds and spaces to do so.
Your profile/interests/skills: Ideally you are looking for a career in community gardening and are already actively learning about food growing and community development and would like to get some experience by working with our Maxwell garden team, with a range of backgrounds and experiences in horticulture, volunteer management, network development and project design.
Tasks: There are many different tasks you can choose to support and be supported with as part of this project: from more administration and communications tasks to preparing growing kits and getting seedlings or growing containers ready. Event and workshop co-design and delivery, engaging with participating households and making short videos or taking interesting photographs that tell a good story.
Expected volunteering days/times: would be some time Monday to Friday (we would agree a set time depending on availability) and we prefer a minimum commitment of 3 hours a week to make the most of this experience. There may be opportunities to volunteer on evening workshops or weekend events too.
Starting date: Early June 2024
