Butterfly Conservation wants to help more people connect with nature and support butterflies and moths in their local spaces. Wild Spaces aims to gives you hints and tips for making space for nature in your own gardens and local spaces.
Join us at The Maxwell Centre for a deep delve into how to grow successfully in pots, tubs and baskets. Thurs 13th June 17:30-19:00. We will be looking at what to grow, how to plant, how to feed and water. Make your Garden a wonderful resource. FREE and everyone is Welcome.
Join Manuela to learn about and make different types of signs and labels. She will cover some basics on how to engage with visitors to your garden and connect them with nature and stories from wildlife and food. You will also be able to test your hand at making one for your garden and/or designing a thematic trail for your own garden.
We are delighted to host our first moving screening! We will watch “Six Inches of Soil”, documentary highlighting the work farmers, communities and individuals who wants to act for a better tomorrow. We will share homemade food and exchange ideas with a few experienced professionals.

Welcome to the Maxwell Community Garden Plant Swap - BIG GROW & BIG LUNCH event! Access through North Wellington Street for a day filled with plants, music, family activity, growing tips, and a delicious lunch. Bring your extra plants to trade with fellow garden enthusiasts and expand your garden collection or get some wonderful freebies. Don't forget to pack your appetite for the big lunch we have prepared for all attendees. Find out how to volunteer with us or at other community gardens in Dundee or SIGN UP for the BIG GROW. If you already have you'll be able to network with other participants and collect your box of growing goodies. Let's grow together and enjoy a fun day in our community garden!
Please come along and see our little community garden in the heart of Ardler. We are nestled between the Ardler Complex and the NHS building, just up from the Macmillan Cafe. We will have seedlings for sale, and the opportunity to plant your own seeds using our fantastic Discovery compost. Come and meet some of our friendly volunteers and find out what we're all about and volunteer opportunities.

Learn a little more about their life cycles, what role they play in the Big wild Garden and how to encourage them. They all have a really important role to play. It's a fun, free, informal workshop. The last Thursday of every month we hold open to all garden days where everyone (16+) is welcome to come and help us out building features for Dudhope Gardens. This involves; building large musical instruments, raised planters, and sculptures; planting trees, fruit bushes and wildflower seeds; maintaining our existing features and keeping log of the wildlife that visits our garden.
Shiell St is looking to start a volunteer team to help maintain this beautiful space. Come along today and meet some of the previous volunteers and see if you would like to join.
To add some additional visual appeal we'll be digging out some beds in our wall path leading to the castle. We'll also be building a naturalistic pond in our centre garden.
Have fun creating your very own personalised gardening Apron. Learn how to add pockets or loops for tools or just get creative with design.
